Performances by LMFAO and three other musical acts (Lupe Fiasco, Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship) overshadowed a modest assembly of celebrities in the VIP section at the first-ever Super Bowl party sponsored by Rolling Stone magazine.

“Mad Men” star Jon Hamm led the roster of actors in the building, joined by Alyssa Milano, Anna Faris, Will Forte, Jack McBrayer and Maria Menounos.

From the world of sports, NFL quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Matt Hasselback made an appearance — as did ESPN on-air personality Erin Andrews.

Former ‘N Sync member Lance Bass was part of a group of musicians who were onlookers rather than performers at the Rolling Stone-Bacardi party.

Hip-hop star B.o.B grooved in approval during an authoritative showing by Lupe Fiasco and his backing band.

Tyler Stewart of Barenaked Ladies mingled in the non-VIP section of the party. He said he had fond memories of playing the Patio — a bygone nightclub in Broad Ripple — with his band in the 1990s. Barenaked Ladies will appear at a tailgate party today at the Bud Light Hotel.

One of the most controversial announcements in the world of men’s underwear was when Jockey announced Tim Tebow was going to be their spokesperson. Our Facebook  page lit up with tons of comments. Most were saying that they would never buy Jockey until he was no longer spokes person.

The Hollywood Reporter ran a post this week that Tim has refused to strip down for Jockey. That meaning he would not be photographed just in his underwear. Jockey claims that the sales since Tebow took over have increased. However, can you sell underwear without actually being photographed in the brand?

Jockey is no stranger to hiring athletes to promote their undies. The first I remember is Jim Palmer. He was a pitcher for the Baltimore Oriels in the 70’s/80’s. His ads just about always featured him in bikini briefs. Which is one of the reasons I got bikinis back in the day. He was not shy and his ads became iconic in the world of men’s underwear....

NEW YORK -- Some things are fashion, and some are necessity. Where do men's undergarments fall? Increasingly, right in the middle.

There's a guaranteed market that needs to replenish supplies no matter what the economy is doing. But innovation in style and technology has made boxers, briefs and undershirts that were once an afterthought into a buzz-worthy category of men's clothes. So much so that H&M is debuting ads for its new undergarment collection by David Beckham during the Super Bowl on Sunday, and Jockey wasted no time signing football star Tim Tebow as its new spokesman.

It makes sense as a growth category, says Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst with market research firm The NPD Group, but it took the right conditions to get on the fashion industry's radar: streamlined design, comfortable stretch fabrics, the idea that dressing starts at the base layer and that shabby-chic doesn't cut it anymore.

Men, in general, aren't as interested in fleeting trends, he adds. They are, however, willing to buy an "evolved" product if they need to replace an old one. And, Cohen says, as has happened with smartphones or athletic apparel, sometimes men will trade up if they think there's genuine newness.
