Sports fans and fashionistas, brace yourselves. International soccer superstar David Beckham will be undressed to thrill in skin tight skivvies in a 30-second ad slated to run during the second quarter of the Super Bowl Feb. 5.
Beckham designed the nine-item line for H&M clothing stores, known for its affordable “fast fashion.”
The bronzed and buffed athlete, boldly going where few men have gone before (Marky “Mark” Wahlberg in Calvin Klein during the 1990s and, a decade earlier, baseball Hall of Famer, Jim Palmer in Jockey's Poco brief) is counting on men across America to ... well ... wear it like Beckham.
“We're always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our customers, and we see this as a unique opportunity to reach millions of fans,” said Steve Lubomski in a press release about the ad launch.
Lubomski, director of marketing for H&M North America, said he believes that Beckham is a “true style icon,” even in his underwear. After all, Beckham has done this before.
