I arrived to The Immortal World Tour with my adorable wife and some shifting expectations of something “Michael.” Cirque Du Soleil surpassed all of my assumptions, painting a decadent depiction of Michael Jackson’s life, from The Jackson Five to Neverland. The show employed fantastical props, costumes and acrobatic dancers from around the world. The stage itself was near sentient, moving, morphing and surprising the audience in every scene. Even Bubbles, Michael’s chimp, made several appearances.

There were many notable players in the Cirque’s display of aberrations and anomalies. A bikini-clad cellist, a snake-skinned contortionist crawling from the pages of a gigantic book, zombie brides shaking bones to “Thriller” and winged-bat dancers with crimson-electric eyes were present, to name a few. Most importantly was a silver-sequined mime, whose pop-and-lock, free-flowing style lead us through the production’s progression. One player even began break dancing on crutches, showing pride in his talented body in spite of a missing leg; this crutch-break spectacle inspired the audience to turbulent applause, winning everyone’s affection with his display of courage and fortitude.

The Super Bowl is an exciting day here at Cryptozoic. The kitchen is filled with the delightful smells of assorted chili concocted by friends and family, the Dragon’s Den proudly shows the game on our big projection screen, and the offices are filled with people playing games all throughout the day. It’s a party of epic proportions.

Our chili cook off is no laughing matter. Six different kinds of chili were entered into our yearly contest: Vegetarian, meat, bean, pressure cooked, chorizo and beanless all had their place at this friendly competition.  Sampling them all is no easy feat. In the end, our very own John Nee was voted the winner with his outstanding pressure cooked chili recipe. I may have talked a little too much smack in John’s general direction about my own home-cooked chili recipe and then didn’t show up to the party with any food … so if there isn’t a Community Blog next week, you’ll know why. It will be the first ever firing citing chili as a reason....

“I’m just very amused by 5-year-old humor,” she said. “Don’t get me wrong: I do destroy men on a weekly basis. It’s like a hobby. I’m like a praying mantis. They f**k me, and then I eat them.

“But who isn’t amused by a giant, dancing penis? Sometimes when I’m sad, I make my assistant put on the penis outfit and bounce around my house.”

The penis outfit is used by Ke$ha when she performs Cannibal track ‘Grow A Pear’ on her ‘Get Sleazy Tour’.

Asked if it is harder to succeed in rock as a woman, she added: “I know that I have balls. I have bigger balls than a lot of the men that I meet.

“I’m just a ballsy motherf**ker. I’m not afraid of pushing boundaries. That’s what you have to do to become an icon.”

Ke$ha later added: “Eventually, I would love to be on my deathbed and looked at as an icon. Right now I’m still at the baby stages of my career. But that is the goal.”
