WARREN TWP. -- Human remains have been found in a wooded area off Warrenville Road in Green Brook Township, according to published reports on Tuesday, Jan. 31, but they have been determined to be male and not the remains of Margaret Haddican-McEnroe, 33, the Warren Township mom who disappeared on Oct. 10, 2006.
The remains were reportedly found at 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29, in a heavily wooded and steep area not far from Red Bud Lane, which is close to the Route 22 end of Warrenville Road.
Police and investigation vehicles have been parked near the site on Warrenville Road.
The remains were found by hunters who were tracking a deer they had hit with an arrow, according to Green Brook Township Police Chief Martin Rasmussen.
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office reports that the remains appears to be one person, but not completely intact.
The missing woman’s husband, Tim McEnroe, who is the last person to see his missing wife, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, was named a “person of Interest” in the investigation of his wife’s disappearance in June 2011, according to reports by then-Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano and Michael B. Ward, Special Agent-In-Charge of Newark Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
